SFL Round 6 A Grade Women 2024

G’day, footy fans! Round 6 of the 2024 SFL A Grade Women’s competition thundered on.

Reynella A Grade Women have been smashing it all season. Round 6 was no exception. The Falcons dominated Ironbank from start to finish.

The Shoes couldn’t even lace up this week, forfeiting their match. The Cockledivers were raring to go and probably would’ve given ’em a good pasting anyway. Better luck next round, Shoes!

This was more of a showcase than a match, with Flagstaff Hill controlling the action from the opening bounce

Ironbank was left for three quarters, straining to see glimmers of the Sherrin as it zipped by. Jessica Couch, scored five goals for the Falcons like she was tossing coins into a wishing well

Flagstaff throttled back in the final quarter, but despite the relaxed final term, their early blitz ensured a 73-13 victory.

Ironbank has found the SFL soil to be as merciless as a hangover on a workday, with just one victory to celebrate and four losses to wince at.

Reynella A Grade Women put on a stunning show against the Cove Cobras. The first three quarters were neck-and-neck, but the Wineflies shifted gears dramatically for the last term. With sharpshooter action from their forwards,  Reynella turned a tight game into a decisive 50-23 victory.

The explosive finish showcased Reynella’s knack for dominating when it counts and left Cove scrambling, marking their training calendar with a few extra sessions.

Ashlee Wright and Chloe Lea each scored 2 goals for Reynella.

The Port Noarlunga Cockledivers were all geared up to flex their footy muscles, but they ended up pocketing a win by default as the Noarlunga Shoes couldn’t lace up a team.

Sure, the points slid onto the ladder as smooth as a cold one slides down on a hot day, but the Cockledivers were itching for a real scrap to show off their prowess. They were pumped to put on a show and pile up the goals, but sometimes, the game throws you a freebie instead of a scrum.

Still, they’re reigning at the top, ready and raring for anyone game enough to square off with them next!

The Southern Football League (SA) Round 6 A Grade Women 2024 showcased the raw talent and determination that define the SFL Women’s competition. As the dust settles, the leaders are starting to pull away, but in footy, as in life, it ain’t over till it’s over.
